Role Overview
We are looking for a Backend Tech Lead with deep banking and fintech experience to lead the development of next-generation financial platforms.
This role blends technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and AI-native development practices, with a strong focus on building secure, scalable financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Architecture
- Design and implement robust banking APIs, financial microservices, and secure backend systems using Node.js
- Architect scalable, high-performance systems handling high-volume financial transactions
- Own the full backend lifecycle: design, development, optimization, monitoring, and scaling
FinTech & Integration
- Lead integrations with core banking systems, payment gateways, and financial platforms
- Ensure compliance with financial protocols and standards (ISO 20022, SWIFT, Open Banking APIs)
- Implement secure transaction flows, fraud detection mechanisms, and data validation pipelines
AI-Native Development
- Leverage tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and similar to accelerate development velocity
- Contribute to the evolution of our AI-native developer platform, influencing roadmap and features
Leadership & Collaboration
- Guide and mentor backend engineers across multiple ventures
- Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend teams, product managers, and designers across Poland and Saudi Arabia
- Establish and enforce best practices in architecture, testing, security, and DevOps automation
Candidate Profile
Experience & Expertise
- 10+ years building production-grade backend systems, with significant experience in fintech or banking environments
- Proven experience with:
- Core banking integrations and financial transaction processing
- Payment systems (Stripe, PayPal, Adyen)
- Regulatory frameworks (PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR)
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript
- Solid experience with:
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis
- Architectures: microservices, serverless, event-driven systems
- Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Deep understanding of:
- Secure coding practices and encryption
- Financial data security and compliance
- System scalability and performance optimization
AI & Development Mindset
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code)
- Strong inclination toward automation, productivity, and modern development workflows
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, multi-project environments
- High standards for code quality, testing, and system design
- Experience working in distributed, multicultural teams (Polish is a plus)
